Good evening beauty fam~! Over the past year, highlighter has become one of my favourite makeup products. If I have makeup on, I can’t finish the look without a little bit of highlight to add that extra bit of dimension and glow to my skin. Today I’m gonna share with you my top 5 favourite highlighters! I have a good mixture of drugstore and high end products so there is definitely a highlighter out there for everyone. Let’s get into it.
1. BYS Highlighting Trio
This has definitely got to my be favourite highlighter from my top 5. This is $8AUD at Kmart and gives you the most amazing glow. I like to the mix both of shades and dust it on with a fan brush. This is a blinding highlight, and for $8 that’s pretty insane! I would consider this to be true highlight. The pigments are not dispersed and are packed together so it looks quite obvious when it’s on your face. So if you’re wanting a natural looking highlighter, this isn’t it. But its an obviously blinding highlight…and it’s so cheap!
2. Colourpop Super Shock Highlighters
These are $6USD each and are also amazing highlighters. The formula’s are really different from your typical highlight powder. Upon the first touch you can tell that these are crazy soft and creamy. When you apply them onto the skin, they apply like a powder. I use a fan brush with these for a more dispersed powder look. Otherwise if you want something that makes more of a statement I’d recommend using a wet brush or your fingers. I have the shades “Lunch Money” and “Off Tropic”. “Off Tropic” has a more reflective quality to it, almost like duo-chrome. While “Lunch Money” looks more like your standard highlight. Both are beautiful and I’d highly recommend.

3. BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector
I remember when I first tried these, I didn’t like the formula. I thought that it way too shimmery and has a lot of glitter chunks. But then I tried the shade “Gradient Glow” and it changed my world. It a highlight with 5 of BECCA’s best selling Shimmering Perfector shades and when mixed all together it leave me with a really pretty glow. It’s a little more glittery and dispersed than the BYS and Colourpop but it’s still really pretty. It’s all I’ve been using the past couple of months.
4. The Balm Mary-Lou Maniser
This was be go-to highlight before I found the BECCA highlight. This is a really pretty champagne highlighter that stands out like no other. I’s more blinding than the BECCA one but not quite as much as the BYS highlighter. It can e blinding if you use it wet, but even if you use it alone, it gives you a gorgeous glow.
5. Charlotte Tilbury Highlighter
This is probably the most natural looking highlight out of the bunch. This is included in my “Instant Look in A Palette” but it’s also available in the “Filmstar Bronze and Glow” kit. This is my go-to highlight for days when i want to wear natural looking makeup, days when I don’t want to glow to the gods. It’s hard to apply too much with this stuff since it’s not crazy pigmented or glittery. It’s got just the right amount to give me subtle, “lit-from-within” glow.

And there you have it! Those are my top 5 highlighters. I highly recommend all of these to anyone who is looking for a new highlighter to add to their makeup collection. If you have any questions, let me know in the comments below. I really wanna try the Ofra highlighter but I haven’t ordered it yet so we’ll see! I hope you guys found this post helpful and I’ll see you all next week~!
