Colourpop Haul #5 (my life is just about Colourpop tbh)

Hey beauty fam! Don’t get me wrong, I get excited by all the Colourpop stuff I buy but I have been particularly excited for the new Lux Lipsticks that dropped a few months ago. So this haul is gonna feature the new lippies as well as some other goodies I picked up! Let’s get started.

Colourpop Brow Boss Gel

I love a good brow gel. I don’t have the most unruly eyebrows but I do like to just sculpt and shape the hairs to make them look a little more thick and full. I wanted to give Colourpop’s brow gel a try because I like their brow pencil so I wanted to see how the gel measured up. It’s a really strange texture. It’s not like a regular clear or tinted brow gel. But it’s white in colour, and feels a little bit like a thicker cream. I’ve only tried it once on the brows but I don’t feel like it did a great job of keeping my brows in place. My brows felt super soft but not sure if it really did anything. I’ll keep you updated once I use it a little more.

Colourpop Lippie Primer

You all know how much I love my Lippie Stix and their formula. But I wanted to see if there was a way for me to make the colour last a little longer and minimise the touch-ups throughout the day. The primer feels like a lip balm, my lips feel kind of hydrated but they definitely felt a little more sticky and intensified the matte finish of the Lippie Stix colour. And this definitely helped with longevity. So if you’re wanting to extend the life of your lip colour, this might be a product you could look into but I wouldn’t consider this to be a must have. Oh, and I also bought another back up of my all time favourite Lippie Stix in Brink…I never make a Colourpop order without adding one of these to my cart.

Colourpop Lux Lipstick

Okay I was super excited when I found out these were launching. I love the classic bullet lipstick. I’m not huge on lipgloss or liquid lipstick so these really caught my attention. First packaging is spot on, it’s a beautiful rose gold casing with star detailing. And then the lipsticks themselves have the stars embedded on the side. Also the packaging doesn’t feel cheap, they don’t look and feel like a $7 lipstick so you’re definitely getting your monies worth! But I gotta say, I’m not in love with the formula. I find that it’s more drying than the Lippie Stix and don’t apply as smoothly. I got four shades and I found the darkest to apply the patchiest. If you like matte lipsticks then you can check them out if you want to, otherwise I don’t think you’re missing out. It’s a real shame because I really wanted to like these but the Lippie Stix still have my heart.

Colourpop “On The Daily” Palette

This is an awesome little quad. If you want to try Colourpop’s eyeshadows but don’t want to commit to a full-sized palette, I highly recommend this one. This is a simple, brown toned palette with four shades that’s really easy for everyday use. You can use the first two shades for a cute and easy day time look or use the last two shades for something a little more dramatic. I just wished the colours were placed in a 2 x 2 format. Having all the four shades in a single row makes it difficult to hold the palette and use the mirror because it’s so narrow. Otherwise it’s a great little travel-friendly palette.

Colourpop “Give It To Me Straight” Palette

Oh. My. God. This palette…is so beautiful. I wanted to get it right when it first came out but I needed to hold back for a little bit and save up. But this is possibly one of my top favourite palette from Colourpop. It’s generally a neutral palette with some burgundy and deep purple tones. It’s a really wearable palette too, the colours aren’t too bold and out there. I think it’s a good entry level palette if you want to experiment with purples and browns but still wanna stay on the safe side. However I did find that the matte shades in this palette were more chalky than other Colourpop palettes I have. Not sure if I got a bad batch but it was something I noticed when swatching. But otherwise I love this palette! It’s so so pretty and could suit many skin tones.

And that’s everything! Kept it nice and simple this week. I think there are some new Lippie Stix shades out so I might have to make another Colourpop order soon. Let me know in the comments what Colourpop products you’re loving, I’d love to read about it. Next week I’ll be doing a foundation review so keep your eyes peeled for that. I’ll see you all next week~! xx

    1. Good thing they’re not too expensive! So I’d say try if you can but don’t be fussed if you can’t! You’re not missing out. Try and find a similar shade in the Lippie Stix range:)

  1. I wish it was easily accessible to me, the ColourPop. I prefer to physically shop for items, rather than order online. I have never seen, as of yet, anywhere that carries it near me. I’ve seen so many great posts and looks with this product line. I love all the pictures you do on your blog, by the way, like how you lay them out.

    1. Where are you from? I think Ulta has started to stock a few Colourpop. But totally understand why you prefer the in-store experience.

And thank you!! So glad you like the photos ^^

      1. I live in canada. I can order it in, but we have to pay duty on the packages. I am getting my passport really soon, so I might go over the border and snag some stuff near summertime. There is an Ulta and a CVS near Port Huron, so it would be less than a half an hour from the border crossing.

I just want to see the product for myself. I only order stuff online I’ve purchased before, usually.

  2. That Give It To Me Straight palette is one of my favourites right now! I love that it’s very wearable like you said but you can add in the deeper shades for a more dramatic look.
You’re the first person I’ve heard say they didn’t like the Lux Lipstick formula! I haven’t tried them yet but I do love the lippie stix and I feel like it’s hard to beat that formula. Loved reading your haul!
