Make-Up That Looks Like No Make-Up Ft. Maybelline, Laura Mercier & Charlotte Tilbury

The last few days in Melbourne were insanely humid, like South East Asia humid which isn’t normal for Melbourne! But it’s been humid to the point where my makeup is just sweating off, it’s not pretty. So lately I’ve been opting for the more natural no make-up make-up look so I can still look fresh faced but not a sweaty mess. Here is what I use to achieve that:

To prime my face I use Soap & Glory’s One Heck Of A Blot, it’s my favourite everyday primer. It makes my skin insanely smooth and matte. I erase my dark circles and acne scars I use the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. It’s my favourite drug store concealer because it feels like nothing on the skin and look like nothing on the skin. Because of the humidity I only apply the concealer under my eyes and on my cheeks. I try to avoid my forehead, upper lip and chin since that is where I sweat the most. To set everything in place I go in with the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder. This is definitely one of my favourite powders because it keeps me matte but it doesn’t look completely matte. I don’t get that overly powdery look, I just look a little more healthy and glowy but not shiny.

For the brows I like to use a pencil for natural looking brows. I really love the Etude House Drawing Eyebrow Pencil because of its wedge -shaped pencil, making it really easy for me to fill in my brows precisely and quickly. For brow gel, I actually used the Maybelline Full N’ Soft Mascara. This is a very natural looking mascara so if I use a light hand, it actually makes a really nice brow gel. It gives my brows a little extra colour too! Before I move on to eyeshadow, prime the eyelids with my beloved Urban Decay Primer Potion to make sure my eye make-up isn’t going to run everywhere.

For eyeshadow I used the Chalotte Tilbury Instant Look In A Palette. I used Colourpop’s eyeshadowbrushes to apply everything. I started with the lightest shade all over the lid, the shimmery shade on the centre of the lids and then the darkest shade on the outer corner. To make my eyes look a little bit bigger and wider I used my Sailor Moon Eyeliner to give me that classic cat-eye flick. I then go back to my mascara to lengthen my lashes.

For bronzer, blusher and highlighter, it’s all there in Chalotte’s palette. The bronzer shade is super natural and blends into my skin really well. I combine the two blush shades to replicate a naturally flushed look. And then to top it all off the highlight shade which is also really nice because it’s not a crazy, blinding highlight. It’s just perfect to give you a natural looking glow, nothing too crazy. And BTW, all my face products were applied using my Simple Glam Girls Unicorn Brushes. I absolutely love these brushes because THEY’RE SO SOFT! Not to mention they’re on sale at the moment and you can get a further 20% using “lewendy” at the checkout (sorry, shameless plug). A no make-up make-up look isn’t complete without your favourite lip colour. My personal favourite is Colourpop’s Lippie Stix in Brink, it’s a perfect colour in between beige and peach and a little bit of pink, my all time favourite MLBB.

And that’s how I like to achieve a natural make-up look in the summer time! It’s a short and sweet routine, takes me almost no time to do but I still end up looking fab. Let me know what you’re go-to products are for hot/humid weather, I’d love to know. Also if you have any advice on how to keep foundation from coming off a sweaty upper lip, please comment below…ya gurl needs help LOL. Anyway I hope you enjoyed this post and I’ll see you all next week~! xx
