Hey beautiful people~! This feels a little weird posting on a Tuesday but as promised, I have a special blog post on the AMICO launch event and the app itself.
For those of you who don’t know, AMICO is an app developed by Cara Taraborelli where girls can find friends and galpals who share the same passions and interests. This app started from the Like Minded Girls Network Facebook group, which I joined sometime in March this year. When I heard an app was to be developed, I was very excited. I don’t know about you but I have definitely had difficulties in making friends so I thought this app was going to be great! I have to be honest with you guys though. The launch event was a little less than what the guests and I had expected. Unfortunately, there were no canapes or goodie bags as promised and the event did seem a little unorganised.
I was able to meet the lovely and beautiful Cara and she explained “I’m so sorry Wendy. Yes I promised this but this was what was promised to me on the day. I’m a student myself who also works full time and juggling this for a first time by myself was definitely challenging to coordinate, to say the least. I am now looking for a cofounder to help me coordinate the development for the app and future events…our media speaker who was meant to film that day was supposed to bring the food. She ended up letting me know on the day at 2pm that she injured herself and couldn’t come”.
Despite the pitfalls and challenges that Cara has faced, I still give commend her efforts for continuing to achieve something that could make a difference in the way us girls can meet and socialise. and while the event wasn’t exactly what we expected, it was still a huge hit. I was able to meet so many people and make some new friends. We also had Sarah and Kevin, the two make-up artists, doing some make-overs and fabulous looks on our girls. Some of the products Sarah used on the guests included Morphe eyeshadows, BH cosmetics brow palette, Kryolan cream eyeliner and Inglot lipsticks. Kevin’s products for the night included the Tartelette Eyeshadow Palettte, MAC Fluid Line gel liner in Black, Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder, Madam Cosmetics Pigments (will be available to the public soon) Ciccone cosmetics lipsticks, Kat Von D Shade and Sight contour face palette, L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara and Mary Louminizer by The Balm. Here are some of the photos from the night, all the photos were taken by me. This was the first time I had to take photos for an event so forgive me if the images aren’t the best!
You can find the full album of all the gorgeous ladies on my Facebook page!
The app is still yet to be released, due to unforeseen circumstances the app was not released on the night of the event, but I will be sure to let you guys know when the app is up and running, just be sure that you’re following me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram! This app will soon be available for android users but AMICO needs your support! If you would like the see the app on android, be sure to visit the Indiegogo page to see how you can be rewarded for your contributions! Cara is also looking for a co-founder so if you’re interested in helping Cara with the app be part of something amazing you can find all the details here.
And that’s all I have for today~! I hope you guys enjoyed this two-part blog special. If you haven’t already seen part one, which was my GRWM look for the night, be sure to check it out! Posting schedule will resume to Thursday night as per usual, so stay tuned for this weeks Thursday post! I’ll see you all then! xx
